 Our group's movie!

The movie our group is trying to make is a horror/thriller based film opening that is based on a student possessed by a demonic entity and murdering people in the classrooms. The basic conventions from the horror genre which will be included in our portfolio are suspenseful music, handheld shots and low lighting. Our characters will also be wearing uniforms to emphasize the idea that these are students. The theme of our movie will be to trust nobody because one of the students will become the killer/antagonist of our film opening. The characters will include a teacher ,students, and the killer. The intended audience for my film is teenagers and adults (15-38) because of the gore, setting, and humor in the movie. I could get people to see our movie by posting it on various social media platforms, advertising it and asking friends and family to check it out and give feedback for future projects. The characters in our movie will be portrayed as an innocent student turned into a murderer by a demon, and two heroes who will do anything in their power to revert the demon's control over its victim.

Other horror/thriller movies!

Normally, horror movies begin with a day in the life or flashforward/flashback opening scene. An opening scene reveals meaning and tone without giving away too much without using much dialogue and using cinematography and mise-en-scene to communicate with the viewer without revealing the true meaning behind the scene. Stereotypes in horror/thriller movies include but are not limited to: white girls going toward the danger, killers with masks, fearless heroes, etc. Most horror films are set in homes or in cabins in the woods, which give a scary and anxious feelings once you know there is a killer/monster on the loose. Abandoned buildings, forests, cabins at night time, churches, asylums, and mansions are usually the places the horror genre will take place, and this is because these places can scare people if you execute the mise-en-scene and cinematography correctly.

Usually, horror movies use fonts like Helvetica, ITC, Trajan and Futura. Thriller movies normally use the Tarantino, Bindlestiff NF, Cyrulik, ITC Avant Garde Gothic, and Alexon RR fonts.
